Lecture Series

Patrick Ahearn – Saturday July 28, 2018 at 11am

As the Principal at Patrick Ahearn Architects, LLC, Ahearn excels in his thoughtful approach in adapting historic homes to the way people want to live today, incorporating the needs for modern technology, environmental controls and current building codes without affecting the building’s historical integrity. His sensitivity to the property’s original spirit results in a beautifully restored home that looks authentic and silent on the streetscape. This lecture will elaborate on his work in Newport, RI, and across New England.

Cameron Silver – Sunday July 29, 2018 at 11am

Cameron Silver is a Los Angeles tastemaker, a stylist to Hollywood A-listers, and, for the last 21 years, owner of Decades, a vintage clothing boutique on Melrose Avenue that sells couture from decades past. Silver will present a fascinating lecture on the history of fashion from 1900-2000. Silver has been credited with sparking the trend in vintage fashion in Hollywood.
